ADVERBIAL ACCUSATIVE, noun. (grammar): in Arabic and other Semitic languages, the use of a noun or adjective in the accusative case as an adverb (i.e. something that stands outside the normal sentence-level argument structure). Examples in Arabic are عَادَةً, literally the accusative case of عَادَة, and تَقْرِيبًا, literally the accusative case of تَقْرِيب. Similar phenomena in other languages are English adverbial genitives and Latin adverbial ablatives.
