FAFNIR, proper noun. (Norse mythology) a son of the dwarf king Hreidmar, gifted with strength and fearlessness, but killed his father and transformed into a dragon out of ill-nature and greed. He would be slain by Regin and Sigurd whilst trying to protect his amassed treasures.
