JOUR, noun. Chiefly U.S.: An abbreviation of journeyman, e.g. jour printer.
JOUR FIXE, noun. (arts) A series of presentations and/or performances, discussions or similar events that happen on a fixed day every month (or similar; for example "every second Sunday of a month"). Used mainly by cultural and artistic organizations.
JOUR PRINTER, noun. A short form of "journeyman printer" referring to both a man's profession and his status within his trade or company; used in 19th century American English.
